Banteay Meanchey – the Fourth Station of SECC and CDX Roadshow of 2018

Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (“CDX”) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (“SECC”) have successfully concluded their roadshow at the fourth stop in Banteay Meanchey province following the two institutions’ pushing for the nationwide awareness of derivatives trading with their recent roadshows in Preah Sihanouk, Kampong Cham, and Siem Reap provinces. Taking place on December 07, 2018, the roadshow brought about a multitude of participants including government officials, businessmen, and prospective derivatives investors.

H.E. Mr. Sok Dara, SECC’s Deputy Director General, presided over the roadshow making his remarks in the essence of the introduction of derivatives and SECC’s dedication and perseverance to boost the growth of Cambodia derivatives market in terms of regulations, trading volumes, trading standards, and public cognizance. Mr. Yun Sovannara, SECC’s Deputy Head of Collective Investment Scheme and Derivatives Business Supervision Division, then focused primarily on the general overview of derivatives trading, the progress of Cambodia derivatives market, regulatory framework, and SECC’s continuing mission to further develop this industry.

With CDX the only Central Counterparty company to have participated in all roadshow stations of SECC in 2018 as well as the only Asian faces from Cambodia to introduce the country and present various investment opportunities for overseas investors at international exhibitions such as the iFX Expo in Cyprus and the London Summit in England, CDX has shown a real example of pure commitment to the bright future of Cambodia derivatives market and been regarded as an industry role model.

Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of CDX, a special guest speaker for every roadshow stop this year, expressed his enthusiasm for the roadshows and revealed that making the financial investment publicly known is high on the agenda of CDX.  Mr. Lawrence also shared his experience in international markets and was of the belief that Cambodia derivatives market was on the right path to gradually realize its full potential.
