CDX Imparts Financial Knowledge And Skills To The Public Through SECC’s Derivative Press Conference

On December 20, 2017, Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia(SECC) organized a knowledgeable press conference on “Derivative Market and Investing in Derivative Instruments” at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, which was presided over by SECC’s Director General H.E Mr. Sou Socheat and got the full backing from Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (CDX). The press conference was aimed at fostering the understanding of the public, especially potential investors, about derivatives trading, speeding up its growth, and making the public able to distinguish such trading from other online trading, thus allowing them to make shrewd investment decisions.

Following the opening remarks by H.E. Mr. Sou Socheat, Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of CDX, was honorably invited to be the first guest speaker because of his highly professional competency and dedication, his immensely rich international experiences and exposure, his never-ending contributions to Cambodia’s financial sector, his great vision and commitment to derivatives market development, and his unique management in guiding Cambodian Derivatives Exchange(Cambodia) Co., Ltd. to stand as the leading licensed derivative company in the country. In response, he was absolutely delighted to deliver his keynote speech to give the participants comprehension of the financial markets, particularly derivatives trading, as well as investment strategies.

“As CDX commits to maintain its second-to-none status on derivatives markets, we always make sure that our clients get satisfactorily unparalleled services in terms of wide trading products, secure and reliable trading platform, precise consultancies, practical risk management and recommendations, exclusive training, and so forth. We are also working with numerous international financial institutions in order to bring valuable experiences and expertise to Cambodia,” said enthusiastic Lawrence after his educational address.

Mr. Lawrence also thanked SECC for creating rules and regulations to ensure trading transparency and to preserve investors’ benefits. He strongly believed that with international cooperation and the guidance of SECC derivatives trading will gradually be prosperous in Cambodia.

All participants seemed contented with the fine refreshments during the break, and with an active Q&A session, they had a very good chance to polish their financial knowledge, summing up the press conference in a worthwhile upshot.
