On March 7, 2020, Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (“CDX”) was invited to contribute to the “Finance Summit 2020”, which was organized by New World Financial Group and grandly held in Rosewood Yangon, Myanmar, with the presence of roughly 200 international financial experts, business leaders, and investors from different corners of the world. Such invitation strategically allowed CDX to share, together with industry elites, their experiences, insights, and analysis on the development trend of the global financial markets, deemed critically important for the whole industry, especially Myanmar as the country is looking to broaden at a fast pace its financial market horizon with the inclusion of a proper derivatives trading.
In his remarks, Mr. U Min Htike Aung, Managing Director of New World Financial Group, expressed his great honor to host the summit and enthused over the new investment opportunities as well as the fact that Myanmar’s financial markets would reach another level in the near future.
Ever since it was established, CDX has formed an inspiring habit of sharing and contributing to the development of the financial industry in all aspects, including, among others, instilling financial education and investment know-how, sharing experiences and developing human resources, giving practical suggestions for regulation formulation and amendment, and going all out for the best technologies.

My sincere appreciation goes to New World Financial Group for setting up this summit, and I would welcome all the opportunities to share my over 20 years of experiences in the financial industry to all areas in Myanmar, just like what I have already done with CDX and Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (“SECC”) during the all-city-and-province roadshow in Cambodia,” said Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of CDX, who was one of the panelists along with Mr. U Min Htike Aung, Mr. Naoto Arase, Head of Fintech of Golden FX Link Capital, Mr. Peter Cruz, Senior Executive Officer of First Bin Zayed Gold, Mr. George Black, Chief Financial Advisor of Goldwell Capital, and Mr. Sam Kima, Senior Vice President of First Asia Merchants Bullion, joining hands to create a lively topical panel discussion under a theme of “Annual Market Outlook”.
