CDX attends the 10th anniversary of the Institute of Credit and Law of Peking University

On September 26, 2021, Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (CDX) attended the 10th anniversary of Institute of Credit and Law of China Credit Research Center of Peking University, under the theme of “Credit Paradigm and System Construction in the Digital Era”. Partially aligned with the major purposes of the China 14th Five-Year Plan, it is mandatory for the university and its alliance to endlessly advance holistic development approaches within the realms of modernity and globalization across the perspectives of economics and law.

This event attracted many senior leaders with various backgrounds, experts from competent departments, famous scholars, and people from all walks of life in the educational and financial industries.

Peking University is a major research center and one of the most prestigious universities in China. The university embraces the diverse branches of learning including basic and applied sciences, social sciences and the humanities, and sciences of medicine, management, and education. Likewise, the Institute of Credit and Law inherits the diligent attitude, proper virtue, and authentic yet high innovation in researching and formulating new techniques and perspectives from Peking University. Throughout these 10 years, the institute has made remarkable contribution to building a society of trust and a healthier economic sector while providing practical theories and solid experiences along with new discoveries.

During the event, as a Deputy Director of this institute as well as a Director of CDX, Mr. Lawrence Kook, celebrated the special occasion and shared a tremendous amount of his experience and excellent insights regarding the current credit paradigm and system construction. He also revealed his dreams of seeing a regulated, prosperous derivatives market in China and creating a golden field of investment opportunities.

“I am delighted to be a part of this occasion and a member of the Institute of Credit and Law. Not many things are sweeter and prouder than contributions to enriching education, nurturing young generations and developing human resources, unveiling discoveries, and enhancing our national economy. Pioneering a solid-foundation derivatives market in Cambodia with CDX, I would say it would be a dream come true if we can emulate the path and bring the successes of the Institute of Credit and Law to Cambodia and bring back the experiences of setting up a transparent derivatives market for China. This would be a huge benefit for millions of people for generations,” said Mr. Lawrence Kook.

As the derivatives market trailblazer in Cambodia, CDX is honored to partake in this prominent occasion and is keen to adapt to the fast-growing and innovative digital technologies, bringing opportunities for all market participants under the leadership of the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC).
