CDX Management Meets and Holds Conversation with Consul General of Cambodia In Hong Kong

For the first time ever, Mr. Lawrence Kook, Director of Cambodian Derivatives Exchange (CDX), had an unplanned-but-insightful conversation with Mrs. Pech Puthisathbopeaneaky, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Hong Kong, exchanging ideas and deep perspectives around the educational and economic support during the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic in both Hong Kong and Cambodia.

This unexpected talk came as the three met at the 31st Hong Kong Book Fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from July 14 to July 20, 2021, at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. After discussion about education programs, other main contents of the talk covered the impact of the pandemic on the global scale, the current situation of the Cambodia derivatives market, and strategies to support Cambodia’s economy ranging from maintaining employment creation, restructuring investment schemes and boosting economic transactions, launching various new promotions, as well as encouraging solidarity and attracting an active participation from the public.

With roughly six decades of combined experience in the educational field and financial industry, Mr. Lawrence Kook has never retreated from the opportunities to share their perceptive viewpoints on developmental purposes. Through this unplanned conversation, they affirmed how important it is to bolster the health of the national economy and how the contributions of each individual prove inseparable. They also included CDX on the list of givers determined to support Cambodians throughout this challenging time.

Mrs. Pech Puthisathbopeaneaky also expressed her readiness to offer her assistance to contribute to the stability of Cambodia’s economic status and the constant growth of Cambodia’s derivatives market even though she currently resided for duty in Hong Kong.

Eventually, the conversation ended with great enthusiasm and action plans. Both parties would chart their own courses to transform this exemplary inclination to become exposed and practiced in their respective entities at all possibilities.
